I know Earth Day is a holiday that gets overlooked sometimes, but it’s pretty important! Oh by the way it’s April 22nd!

I mean we do live here until our time is up, so we should take care of it the best way we can.

Aeryn has really been into sustainability and informing me on ways that could help the Earth. Like not leaving our water on, turning off lights if we’re not using it, and recycling. All this coming from my 6 year old still amazes me. I don’t believe, myself as a 6 year old kid knew nothing about sustainability or anything of the like.

However, I love that she is into doing these things, so it’s only right that we participate in some fun Earth Day activities!

Here are 5 EASY activities that you can do for Earth Day with your little ones.

  1. Earth Day Coffee Filter Craft

This one is really easy. All you need is

  • A coffee filter
  • Markers
  • Spray bottle of water

Draw your earth on the coffee filter using the markers, then spray it a few times with water, and let dry.

  1. Earth Day Cookies

These do not have to be homemade! Grab some sugar cookie mix and food coloring. Check out this super easy recipe here!

  1. Neighborhood Clean Up

This was actually my daughter’s idea. She has been asking to do this for some time and it was only right to do it for Earth Day. We wore gloves, brought along a bag, and made sure to bring some sanitizer. You can also bring a separate bag for objects you find that can be recycled.

  1. Recycled Egg Carton Tree Craft

Got an empty egg carton? Great! Now get some paint or markers and glue.

On a piece of paper, draw or paint your tree trunk, then cut the egg cartons (this may need to be done by an adult), and glue around your trunk. You can color or paint your carton “leaves” green!

5. Earth Day Scavenger Hunt!

This is a good way to get outside and have some fun while still taking care of the planet.

I’ve also included a FREE template to download. Happy hunting!

Reduce. Reuse. And Recycle.

Happy Earth Day!
