It’s hard to believe that my first baby is already 8 years old! The saying really is true, “time flies when you’re having fun!”
Due to COVID, we weren’t able to give her a birthday for 2 years, and even after having our 3rd child 4 weeks prior, I wanted to give her a special birthday.
This time around with 3 kids, our budget and time looked a little different than it has in the past.
So here’s all the details of Aeryn’s 8th Party Animal Birthday Party!
I created this invitation on Canva and sent it digital to friends and family.
This is one of the easiest ways to save money! You also don’t have to worry about postage or worrying about whether or not people will receive the invite on time.
Most of our birthday parties have taken place at our home, but due to time and convenience, we opted to have the party at a venue. There’s pros and cons to both, but during this season it was easier for us to host the party at a venue. Family Time Mansfield was a great place for the kids as it was inside (which in Texas in July it’s extremely hot). There were bounce houses, soft play, and plenty of things to do as well as room for the kids to just run around.
We also had a friend come and do some balloon decor. If you’re in the DFW area, I highly recommend using Clarice’s Balloon Decor.
The cake and desserts- I purchased the cake and cupcakes from Walmart. I was able to customize them the way that I wanted and they turned out perfect! I topped the cake with a sparkler candle and a toy giraffe. To make it fun, I added a party hat and a skirt to the giraffe.
You can’t have too many sweets at a birthday party, so I added some confetti frosted sugar cookies as well.
Food- Since we were bringing everything to the party venue we wanted to keep it pretty simple. We ordered a few boxes of pizza, added some chips, and juice boxes, which was pretty quick and simple for the kids.
Party Favors- I kept it pretty simple with the party favors as well. Added a bag of frosted animal crackers and Aeryn picked out a toy to add to the bags. I also put some of the frosted sugar cookies in plastic wrap and put them in the bag as well.
This was a pretty simple, yet inexpensive birthday party. Definitely one of the more simpler ones I’ve done thus far. But she and her friends had so much fun and it was completely stress FREE for me! Definitely a #MOMWIN
